Problems with AUX input

Hello folks. I have a standard aux input and it's playing up - needs a wiggle and for my phone to stay still. I think it needs rewiring.

I've checked out the AUX install threads. Is there any other way to gain access or is it a vents out job?
I'm hoping the problem is near the input jack and I can just pop out the little square. Fingers crossed.
