Problems opening Z4 doors when the temp drops!!!!

Hi all,

With this spot of cold weather I have noticed a slight design fault with my Z4 and wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing???

When the temperature drops to the point of freezing, it is nearly impossibly to get into my car!!! The doors seem to freeze shut and because the windows can't do their "going down" thing that they do prior to being able to open the door - you have to actually force the door open which sometimes takes a while and then when you try to shut the door the window is actually on the outside of the hard top!!!

If anyone knows what I mean please let me know if you have had the same problem!!!

Thanks,

I thought my car was immune, but alas yesterday it happened to me....

The trick is to spray de-icer along the window frame before opening the door. I also use Rain-X to reduce ice on the glass.

This has been posted before, my issue is not the rubber inside but ice outside.

All my zds have done this but this one is the worst when trying to shut the door, window gap is massive until it defrosts when i can reset the window.

stuff on the rubber never helped me never bothered with deicer, or using anything special and never had any issues resetting the window.

May give it a go though as this model does drop the window. My other zds had a hard top during the winter but never damaged the seal.
