Problem with the soft top

Tray switch in the truck?

I had an issue with mine jerking upon initial opening and on two occasions not opening at all. The problem was with the left alignment pin on the top. The left side pin is the alignment pin seating (rather snug fit) in a round socket in the top windshield frame, the right side has a slotted opening. What I found was a small amount of dirt and crud had built up in the sockets and on the pins. This caused the left pin to lock up in the socket preventing the top from opening. All it took was cleaning the pins and sockets with a scotch bright pad and applying a coating of wax (car wax that is) to the pin and socket. Now there's not so much as a twitch when the top opens. :thumbsup:

Speaking of problems with tops... :(
I had my Zed at the dealer Friday to be detailed.
They put the top down while doing the detailing and when they went to put it back up it would not work.
They had one of the tech's take a look and he put it back up manually and is pretty sure the motor/pump unit has failed. Goes in Tuesday to be fixed. First serious problem I've had and this is under warranty... :)

Well at least I don't have to explain to them what happened... :P
...and when they were explaining to me what happened I told the service manager, "then what you're telling is when you put the top down you broke it...you broke my top"... :fuelfire:

Hmmm.... That sort of thing usually only happens AFTER warranty! :o
