Problem with my mirror

Yesterday after I parked the car I press the button of the mirrors. When I pressed to go down again the right mirror was like that.imgurl

After I pressed 10 times the button the mirror always it didn't stop and became like that. I call the mechanic and he told me that probably the stop of the mirror has broken and we need a new mirror. The cost of it is around 1000 euros. :headbang:
After that I tried to spray it with air inside the mechanism and it worked. I tried that again and the the mirror became like this again.
I followed the same procedure with the spraying and the stopping it my hand and it worked.

Any ideas why is that happening?

Not sure same on yours buddy
But this was happening on a mates rangie
We took mirrors off and found that the motor engages on to a toothed wheel.
With time and any Pressure incurs wear
So we lifted up the wheel, spun it round 180 degrees clipped *what about utter arse* of a job the retaining clip
Back on car and tadaaaaa all sorted

D4dawg thanks mate for the answer. When I will find some time during the holidays I will check your scenario and let you know.

Most welcome buddy
Or what I'd do is buy a broken one and open it up and do a recky or go to dealer and look at schematic

That'll help:)
