Problem with hatchback on coupe

I have a Z4 coupe and find that the hard plastic in the rear hatchback (door) rattles against the metal of the rear door over bumps.

If I open the boot/hatch and tap the plastic it clangs against the metal - showing that it isn't flush against the metal.

This has been a problem from new. The Stealers took off the plastic and stuffed it with felt, which reduced the problem but didn't fix it. I took it back and they removed the felt and (claim to have) altered the catch/latch and alignment. It's now clanging over bumps worse than before. Its been to (several) Stealers 8 times now for various rattles and defects - all under warrenty and always without success. Not only have they been completely useless, they have wasted my time and made a fast buck from BMW UK by replacing parts that didn't need replacing - while not fixing any of the issues. I have now completely given up on the Stealers and have decided to do it myself.

I do, however, need your advice.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Is it easy to take the hard plastic interior away from the metal rear door/hatch - are there any instructions for this? Is there a better material than felt to bridge the gap between plastic and metal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine rattles too. Since it's still under warranty, I just take it back. No idea on how to take down that piece.
