My first thing would be to loosed the allen bolt above the rear view mirror (and the two main fixings behind the doors) and just try jiggling and re-seating the top and lock it down again. Its should sit completely tight as you know.

If that doesn't work, remove the top, turn it upside down and watch the operation of the two clamping devices as you turn the allen bolt....you may be able to get away with undoing all three clamps (1 x windscreen and 2 x behind doors) and lodging something between the top and the screen rail so you can see the clamps in operation?

It could be that the mechanism is not working both sides......one final thought; there isn't anything jammed in between the top and the windscreen rail is there that could be dislodging it?

Good luck.

sorry no pictures, and to be honest I can't even remember how it clamps, but if you operate the allen bolt with the roof off you should be able to see the two mechanisms moving that clamp on to the screen rail - I think the same place that the soft top clamps on.

If one is moving differently to the other (or not at all) theres your problem.

But like I said, reseating it might help? Just undo the three fixings, jiggle the roof until its sitting flat on the screenrail like it should (apart from a small even gap which the clamps close up) then retighten it....

If it won't sit flat - or at least square, even when its undone, then again I would suspect a damaged fixing at the screen rail location...

Go on have a go, sometimes its easier than you think...

The problem is a common one and happens to most of them when fitted. It wont leak but leaves a small air gap that acts like a whistle at speed. It can usually be fixed by correctly adjusting the rear adjusters to raise the hood to create a 5mm gap on the rear corners.

Way too complex to explain so pm me an email address and I'll send you the adjustment guide.

Failing that you need a new windscreen seal from the dealers at a cost iirc of about £150

Yup, can definitely conform CJ10jeeper's comment. I purchased a perfectly fine one via Ebay today, got it mounted and everything seemed fine. Till I got on the (German) motorway, doing about a 100 mph the complementary whistle 8) got quite annoying.
