Problem with door locks /central locking

Hi guys newbie here so be gentle . My 04 plate has started acting up to the pooint I cannot get in it , neither door will open , though the central locking seems to work , the doors stay shut . Is there any way to get the soft top to retract or any other access to the driners seat , so I can get to a garage !!!!!! :cry:

certainly sounds like you have a strange problem :o what happens when you try and open the doors - you say the central locking seems to work - do the buttons come up in the doors??

Have you tried using the key in the lock rather than just the remote?

you could always try turning the key in the lock to open and keep it there - a window may open or sometimes even the roof may drop...
 
Also hold the unlock button on the key for a number of seconds as this may cause the window/s to drop depending on programming
 
Yes guys tried all the above , it's a very strange one , didn't like BMW's approach of " we will need to wreck a door " .

The door appears open when using the buttons but they wont open , have tried the holding the button down to no avail , am about to try keeping the key turned in the lock to see if that works .

Is that all of the BMW empire or just you local dealer....? Perhaps worth trying someone else.
 
Quick update , auto electrician managed to get the windows down and therefore access via the roof to the driving compartment , it's now sitting with BMW awaiting their appraisal , he believes that the problem is with the actuators as the deadlock's wont release when the key is inserted , also the door locks pop when I attempt to open the door from the inside .

I will post what the outcome is , though ione thing is guarenteed it will be ££££££ pricey :x
