Problem with air con / fans

Over the last few weeks I've had this intermittent issue with the fans on my Z4C. Basically, if I turn the fans up, I can hear something working away in the depths behind the vents to try and blow air out, but nothing is actually coming out. If I turn the fans right the way up, I can hear a whistling noise. The problem is usually gone the next time I go to start the car up (but restarting the car at the time does not fix it). Pressing the A/C button does not seem to make any difference.

Anyone had this before?

Sounds like it could be a bit of dried-up leaf that had made its way through to the fan.
Try putting everything on full tilt - but with only one vent actually opne to blow it out.

I have had a similar issue. I believe it's the air vent selector/ flap thingy

Basically next time it happens try turning the knob on the left of the dash the one that chooses if the air is directed at your feet/ head. Give it a few full turns and if the fans start to work again, I would think it's the same issue.

As far as I can tell the only way to fix it permanently is to buy a new part, which is listed at $700 on real oem :o

Thanks. Hopefully that would be covered by by AUC warranty - have about six months of that left!
