I put a post on here a few weeks back regarding a hesitation below 2000 rpm on my 2003 Z4 3.0i.
I assumed it was a coil issue so I took it to Emtec in Salisbury and they plugged it into the diagnostic kit - no faults.
We decided that the one or more of the coils were on the way out so, half an hour later, they were all changed and the problem is solved.
For anybody in the Wiltshire / Hampshire area I can certainly recommend Emtec. They have a huge range of cars in from old E30 / 34s through to new M5 / 6s and they know their stuff. Price is about 50% of a main dealer.
