Problem installing OEM strut brace

I had the same trouble instaling my brace. I gently tapped a couple of the bolts into place on both sides of the car and it fell right into place. BAD IDEA!!! The alignment was WAY off afterwards and I had to have it realigned. I should have taken it to the dealer and let them put it on for the half hour worth of labor they were wanting for the job.

Had you or a prior owner removed the locating peg? The alignment is controlled by that peg not the bolts. Of course if the peg was removed by someone then say the towers pushed in to give more camber then moving them back out would change things.

Alignment seemed okay after I messed it up, and after the dealer installed the brace. Granted, I have only driven it around 30 miles after the install, but it didn't seem to be any different, and it was something I was trying to check for.
