I have a question about repairs I have had done in January this year. Just before Christmas I had a little accident, which required a new front bumper and passenger side Xenon headlight.
I decide because of the damage to the headlight that I would go through my insurance for the repairs. Cost of a new light was fair more then my excess plus the fact I got a replacement car to use over charismas even though repairs where not going to start till the New Year.
Anyway I got my car back mid January looking nice and fresh, but I now have a problem with my headlight. I have two different coloured lights and what looks like to different lens.
My old light has what looks like little ribs on the lens and has a blue/white tint to the light. The new light has a clear non ribbed lens and has a clear white tint. below are some photos old and then new
I’ve been in contact with the repairs on and off and taken the car back to show them the problem. After seen the problem they have been in contact with BMW parts/spares but still believe they have fitted to correct part. The reply I got back from them was that "BMW light are not blue so problem could be with my old light".
I brought this car from a BMW dealer when it was year and half old, I would not of thought any one would of messed with the lights in that time.
I have got them to take the car back in so they can take a closer look to double check part numbers etc with the old and new light.
What I would like to know has they been any changes to the production of these lights, my cars a 57reg. What lens do people have fitted to there Xenon lights, are they ribbed or clear?
I'm assuming its most probably two different bulbs and lens, nothing serious but believe it should be put right hopefully but the repairer.
