anyone else ever just seem to be having loads of little problems with the Z? my currentl list of things is

1. headlight washer jet needs a new pump
2. sidelight doesnt work even with a new bulb in leaving a light on the dash!
3. had a break servo problem for about 12 months now! start the car and put my foot on the break pedal the the revs jump up and down like a yo-yo! mechanic said he cant find anything wrong!

and now today to top it off the passenger side wing mirror glass decided to fall out today and smash on the road!

just seem to be having problem after problem at the moment!

The pump is an easy DIY job. They just pull out (but make sure the reservoir is empty first!) You might find the filter is clogged. Worth a check. If it's gunked up with blue gunk, you'll probably be able to clean it yourself.

Have you got a multimeter to check voltage is getting to the bulb?

Check the vacuum lines to the servo. I heard of a car (not a zed) that had a weakened pipe that would collapse under load. I'd think if you have a plumbing problem it would cause the engine to run erratically

eBay!

Sorry to hear of all the problems though. Those small things add up and spoil the overall ownership experience.

well my garage has said the pump leaks and a new one is needed! looked on ebay and they are about £30?? with the light unfortunatly i donr have a multimeter! hoping to have a good rumage with the cables and see if thats fixes it! i did have my garage check the lines and he said they where fine! ive seen second hand servos on ebay for about £50! so might just get one! just ordered a new glass as well for £7.98 from ebay! so least that can be sorted!

your certainly right though its spoils the whole feel of the car! and its in need of a clean right now which makes it worse lol

many of us will have small issues mine are : Flaky lacquer , lollipops needing renewed , intermittent fault with abs which has been fine the past 8 weeks . wheels needing a refurb, and a service , aprt from that car runs great . once the better weather starts iv got plenty to keep me busy.

I posted on another thread about stone chips ; need to re-dye my driver's side bolster ; wear on the back of both seats where tall people have had them right back - the fecking most annoying squeak in the world from the roof latch when down ; brakes need stripped, cleaned and probably new pads ; car park ding on the driver's side rear wing ; 2 decent sized chips and a nice double scratch from a dirty wiper on a windscreen less than 12 months old... I could go on, but shan't. Loads of little things that I have had and very slowly fixed over time though, which I am quietly pleased about.

My solution - clean it, notice all the wee issues, hide as much as possible with polish and wax when I have the time, but then just go out and drive it till it's manky again. Notwithstanding obvious things like mirrors being absent and windows not working, when you get behind the wheel and drive it the little sh1t doesn't matter. It's still - after being a DD for almost 2 years and 25k miles - an awesome car and I love being it's pilot 8)
