Is the 677 option (pro hi fi ) worth having ?

I'm wondering how good can it be in such an accousticaly poor environment!
Ive got the advanced system in the current car.

IMHO yes I think it is Ronk, unless you want to go ripping your interior about at a later date fitting new speakers, subs, amps etc, it's a good compromise for the price. I paid £750 I think and for that money it's worth it easily. However it's not a fantastic system by any means, the bass is lacking in depth and the speakers are just normal standard fare, there's just a lot of them, however the amp seems fairly beefy as it gives plenty of power, and you get an equaliser in the Idrive so you can play about and find good levels for your taste, with an all round good sound. If I bought new again I'd spec it again, as I said for the price it's well worth it as it's a good distance away from the standard 6 speakers, not just a step up.

The current car has the advanced system ond that's ok but a beefed up amp must be a help. Although with my ears having a few years of use and abuse ie loud music , factory and gunfire noises - there is a degree of deterioration .

My hearing test on retiring several years ago showed that I had some frequency loss - I I think it needs a good dollop of top end to help me these days.

There's plenty of top end in the pro unit, it's lack of depth and low frequencies it struggles with. The standard spec is pretty poor so go for it, shame to put a rubbish system in a new car!

A slightly different question but does anybody know what the individual sound system is?
Is this the same as the pro hi fi?
