Does that mean I can go to the DVLA now and sort it out? Or do I have to do something with this form first? I don't know what it is or what it says because I haven't got home from work yet to read it, just had a text saying it'd arrived. If I can do it now i'll go to the DVLA office tomorrow. (I'll not bother going on my lunchtime though from what i've read in this thread!)

buy some double sided tape, the front is a bit harder to stick because of the bend, the back is easy peasy

The top left of the rear plate, is that just lighting in the photo or has it been sent to you damaged? The plate will look good on the Z4.

Remember to tell insurance company.

You'll need a new tax disc and MOT cert from DVLA. I did mine when I bought my zed and it took two weeks. Might just be Dundee DVLA but they wouldn't allow a straight swap :(

Some DVLA's offices dont do reg transfers over the counter.. and send them off to swansea... I know nottingham did this for me a few years ago, but watford did it over the counter for me last year.

To save time... print the V317 off from the web site and fill it in..... http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/PersonalisedRegAndNumberPlates/DG_4022576
Take this along with your MOT cert, retention doc from your new plate, original tax disc (which they will give back to you) and insurance forms to the DVLA or post it to swansea.

I got my temp V5 thing, MOT cert and new road tax in a few days - at which point you can put the new plates on.... took the V5 a few weeks to turn up...

You could have got a plate that says J1 UCY... stick a space and screw in the right place could have got you J Lucy!

Doesn't stop some scrote from putting them on then filling up with petrol though.
They would need exactly the same car, model and colour for any action to be taken against the registered plate owner since it would be recorded on the garage's CCTV.
This happened to me.. exact same car, colour & model.. I got off it (as it wasn't me) and now the car has a get out of jail free card as it's marked as 'cloned' in london. Not saying any more but I won't be selling it for a while

Nice plate Lucy.. although I prefer the L1UCY I sent u a while back for about 1200 :P If it's only 5 characters you should look at a shortened front mount too, a la CJ..

I also forgot to tell my insurance company..
