I think that's the problem, having to "work out" what the plate says. If you're name was Kanse then fair enough, but it doesn't say kane. All it says is "I wanted a personalised plate to say 'Kane', but couldnt find one, so settled for this".

I'd consider this as a plate. I thought about getting one with initials. But couldn't think of anything significant for the first section.

That was the most difficult choice. The initials were available, it was choosing a short number and letter to prefix them. They one I had my eye on for months was sold (V111 DWN) so 14 was my second choice from an aesthetics pov. Again - silly for some I'm sure but I like it and it's personal to me.
 
I do agree that they can add an amount of individuality, as was the case many years ago. It is a shame that it has become the norm for the average driver to hide the age of their car with a view to 'keeping up with the Jones's'' thereby losing its original appeal... I guess that's a side affect it of becoming so affordable, and yet another essential accessory to the general public.
 
When I can afford it I will probably get something like X88 ADC. The wife's car has S88 CTC on it. So the last three are our initials, and 88 is a fortuitous number in Chinese culture - and my wife is Chinese. Just a shame I never bought a matching pair when I got my wife's :(

Couldn't give a toss what anyone else thinks - I like it :D

Same here, Ade. Plate is my son's nickname when he was a baby (his initials are EWG, hence called earwig) so it's very personal to me and SWMBO. Not an investment monetary-wise, just sentimental value.

Only issue is everyone round here knows whose registration it is, so I can't behave like a hooligan. Mind you, #108 is not exactly subtle :D

Yup, I remembered that ( :o at my memory!). Our initials are AF and EJF, so getting plates with those initials was easy enough, and then it was numbers....we were married in 2003 and we bought them for our 10th anniversary and as Liz's car is on a 13-plate, there you go. Worth nowt to anyone but us, but ours forever, now, and a bit of sentimental fun (pix on an ALPINA forum recent meet of my 'meaningless' plates).

When sourcing mine, I actually turned down B3 EAF (car model, our initials) as although I do like the more car-specific plates (and there are some excellent examples of those) we quite fancied the 'matching pair' as a more personal choice in our case.

It is very clever, but I don't think "icndeblire" would make a good numberplate regardless of whether people know what it is meant to say :wink:

No not really.....but as others have said it is a personal thing and if it gives you enjoyment then that's all that really matters IMO.

I would not lose the 5 when I read your plate if I'm honest, so would also say Kanse.

This is mine : B41 AAM and my surname is Balaam. BAL 44M was the only other plate for me but that went for 5 times what I paid for mine.
 
I read it as KANSE too , I didnt see Kane at all , sorry about that . Depends on wether you like it yourself or you want people to immediately see your name?
