Private plate… worth it?

I have a private plate that is my name plus a random number. I like it because it makes my car ageless and it makes me happy.
It cost me £350 which is relatively cheap, some people spend that money on booze in one weekend.

I personally don't like the idea of a car related plate but that's me looking back at the old XR3is with lots of extra Ford and XR3i stickers plastered all over the car. But that R8 looked good.

At the end of the day, do what makes you happy and sod the rest of us!

Dateless plates can be seen as an investment everything else is pretty much money down the drain unless it's really unique and already worth good money. Basically not the ones you see floating about for pennies.

I don't see any value in adding NN52 or EN52. Why would it?

Get a private plate that means something to you. It looks like you don't know much about plates so chances are it will be money down the drain and it seems like you are trying to add value by asking questions so the opposite of what you are trying to achieve.

If you want to add value to the car buy m sport seats or something unique that is rare.

I was just thinking from the perspective of the engine in mine being the N52.
I don’t think I’ll bother to be honest. I only had the thought due to the existing plate needing to come off.

Only had my E86 7-8 months now, but simply couldn't resist this plate: AN52BMW, dont normally buy into the name plate thing although my wife does: JU17ETJ (Juliet James) and have FA57LTS ready for my Lotus Emira at the end of this year hopefully?? Loving the Z4 although dreading having to sort the handbrake that doesn't want to lock 90% of the time!!!

I have a private plate on my X1 but take pleasure in people knowing the Z4 is nearly 20 years old and still looks fantastic! :D

The plate on my Z4 actually makes the car looks 3 years older than it is but it came with the car so I'm happy to leave it on.

The plates on our other cars have the first part of our surname. We've done it to take the age off the cars and but it does make you more recognisable.
