And DVLA can withdraw your plate if not properly constructed in terms of size and spacing AND you can't recover the plate cost.....

Does anyone know how much of a risk this is, and whether it's actually happened to anyone?

DVLA can only withdraw after "3 Strikes." You must be warned (and fined) twice beforehand before you can get your plate revoked. Did some reaearch on this with the VX as it was only 3/4 size ;)

Good to know - thanks!

I've got 2 spaces between M and *OUP and nothings been said since october 07, I think it depends on how the :police: is feeling most of the time, just look at some of the speeding stories in the other post.

If your worried about it, carry the legit plates in the boot, you can swap them over there and then in about 3 minutes, That should go a long way to letting you off......unless he didn't get the shag promised the night before, then your fooked !

245 from the DVLA. Quite lucky having the ability to get something like 'T8' to be honest. I know most people don't have it that simple!

the one i have my eye on is quite good for me and for the price aswell, how long before you are allowed to put it on

The confirmation email they've just sent through indiciates it takes up to 14 days to send through your V750 certificate of entitlement. At which point I believe you can just walk into a branch of Halfords with that, your V5 and driving license and ask for a set to be made up.

You're so right, try getting my initials JDS or even JS. Wish my dad had Christened me Xavier Yacob Xanadu - think of the plate I could have! :)

Yep - I was away when I got my papers through, on the way home I got pulled as they checked my (old) reg on the car and couldn't work out why it should have been a newer private plate. Took about 10-14 days.

But you still need to go to a DVLA office with your V750 and V5 and get the registration transferred to your vehicle, after which they send you a new V5. At least that's what I had to do!
