Private Number Plates

Never understood "private plates"the vast majority of them just look silly, especially when they are trying to spell something they clearly do not.
I think you should be issued with a number when you pass your test and keep that number for life.

'cos M3 on a mondeo just suggests to me that person is not as well off as he used to be.
A personalized plate, ought to be just that. personal, not vehiculised. but thats just my view :fuelfire:

I think M3 can go on anything because I think of it as ME on M3, so M3 PVW would be Me PVW

Nice picture S1FTA

I assume you are showing off your private plate - thats a brill plate cos its very personal to you, that will go on any car you have

Can't see the point of spending hundreds of pounds on a personalised reg with anything to do with a car on it... After all the badges say BMW, Z4 or whatever six inches away from the plate and are free.
Anyone who knows about cars and is likely to appreciate what is on the plate already knows the make and model, and if they don't know that much about cars they probably don't give a flying f**k.
What's the point of then having to sell it with the car for peanuts, or try and sell it privately, 'cos M3 on a mondeo just suggests to me that person is not as well off as he used to be.

X2 Have to agree cannot see the point of moving a plate around to make a name

My surname is Light, and i have C16HTY on my car :) Obviously my nick name is Lighty lol

I had the plate especially made up and I had it on my car for 6 years with no spacing, and with the top of the C gone aswell as making the 6 look a bit more like a G.
Unfortunately i got pulled over about 3 months ago and was told if i didnt change it, they would report it to the DVLA and get it taken away from me...
I have now got it spaced out normally but it still looks ok :)

I have M44RRT plus a few others such as:

VR08OMM (vroom)
S1 AGT
M16 SHH
JJ08OHN
JJ08HNS
RR08LLS
L66MBO
V123 FER
M1 8STN (my Aston)
AD10S VB

I put them on ebay every now and then when I am in the mood

I am looking after my Dad's as he currently lives in France. The plate is BW12, apparently it used to belong to Babera Windsor 8)

I have M5 CEC on my Z. My initials are MjS and my wife's are CEC! It was bought originally for my wife's car as it also 'spells' MS CEC with the MS for the politically correct instead of Miss/Mrs. Ended up on the Z as I could not be bothered changing the other car plate around as well which is M600 MJS. As my surname is Sexton I liked the idea of 600 being 6 'ton' so I had M 6 ton MJS!
