Hi,

Does anyone know which primer colour should be used for Sterling Grey?

Many thanks.

Andrew.

I just use light grey primer surfacer (proper paint not rattle can)

Same colour has been on oem parts I've purchased such as ///M sills

Excellent - Thanks for the quick reply.

I need to repair a scuff caused by a London bus,....it's only a small patch so I think i'll have a go at it myself. You'll be pleased to know that the rest of your paintwork (on the facelift bumper you sold to me) is holding up nicely!

Andrew - sorry - forgot to make the connection of you as a buyer of my previous bumper. That was pro sprayed locally.

Personally I would not attempt a localised repair on a bumper with spray can as you'll really struggle to get a finish that will match and blend in, especially by the time you've sanded, filled, primer, base and lacquer. Assuming the damage is on one side or the font (given a bus did it and not a kerb) then it'll probably be highly visible place.

I'd bite the bullet and get it sprayed fully or even (though I'm not a great fan) specialist local 'ChipsAway' type company

That's alright, it was a little time ago!

I'm in two minds whether to give it a go to keep it looking OK until the spring time, and then get it professionally done then. At the moment, everytime I look at my car, all i see is the scuff so it's bugging me! I've done some minor cosmetic repairs before which aren't noticeable. The incident also broke the washer jet cap, so I might just paint this and get the body shop to do the rest in the spring/summer when the weather warms up.

Andrew.
