My son has the opportunity to upgrade his zed (2005 2.5 M54) with a 6-speed gearbox, as he may have access to a similar aged box and complete drivetrain from a 3.0 M54
I believe swapping everything should mean it will work, and the larger clutch and the flywheel from the 3.0 won't be needed as the engine is staying the same 2.5
Question - does anyone know if the primary input shaft on both gearboxes is the same? Will the 3.0 'box mate into the 2.5 ?
