Prices rising for the Z4s in the US...

Not sure what is happening in the UK, but I watch prices pretty closely here and have noticed definate increases. Here, used car prices have risen across all makes and models, and this may be due to general economic conditions and new car prices in recent months. This being said, I follow Z4 prices for 2009+ 35i models and in the last 6-9 months, I have seen prices improve by 10% - 15% or so - more over the last year. Oddly, I see more cars for sale as well.

Hopefully as they have stopped making them and I suspect a lot of people won't like the new version then demand for the better models will keep rices at least stable but going up would be nice.

Absolutely! And cars with histories in California and Arizona get premiums due to dry weather. In the end, they all use demand based pricing services, so they tend be aware of the market in real time. Its common here to buy out of the state and need shipment. Tricky over here for rare, exotic, or one of collectors! The best deals seem to be in large dealerships strangely. They put them on display and use them to build traffic. If the price is reasonable, it makes the dealer look like all his cars are cheap too.

Well, I hope prices do start to rise, or at least stabilise, as we have been trying to get rid of my wife's Z4 without much luck.

Haven't tried to sell privately as we don't want the hassle so we were stuck with the WBAC type purchasers and our supplying dealer, Stratstones.

Early autumn really is not a good time to sell a convertible, even one that is a coupe most of the time.

So it looks like it will go back in the garage again for the winter with the hope that next summer will not be so hot as the last one when the roof had to stay up so the air-con could be deployed.

Maybe a stupid question, but have you tried selling on here?

It's free, and you won't be dealing with Joe Public like you would on A/T, ebay, etc.

Worth considering Mr Tidy.

Can second that, I sold my last Z4 to another forum member with little to no hassle, nice to know its going to a good home as well
I'll put my existing one on here too as and when it comes to move on :)

As for prices, I'm not sure if they've gone up over this side of the pond but I don't think they've gone down either so here's hoping there's an interest in manual 35i's soon

I have to say that would be my pick of E89 models, or maybe a 30i.

Yes there seems to be trend in the States. It seemed to me that it started after the spring season around here, so I thought perhaps the inventory had been depleted by all the seasonal buyers. Now it seems to be a favorable combination of factors, including a good economy here and high employment rates. Publicity about the 2019 may have created some interest in the E89 and helped its discovery at affordable prices as well. The economy is probably the bottom line though, because these cars are a discretionary item.

At least if you sell on the forum you know your pride and joy is going to a good home
