I was amazed to see this 2015 E89 Zed4 3.5is in the BMW dealership in kings lynn today . Truly immaculate with 32.000 miles and priced at £29.000. I appreciate that some used car prices have and are rising but I was quite surprised to say the least?

Don't forget that value increases by 50% for orange cars, in any colour that would be under £20k

You might be surprised what you could get for yours now Tony.

Just looked at the car online, it has 19500 miles not 34000!

But will anyone pay that? probably not

You will be surprised what people will pay at a main dealers. If they have priced it up at 29K they must be pretty confident that they will get it. When I was searching for mine in 2019 Sytners had a 25000 miler 30i in Grey priced at almost 18K which at the time was way over the top. I tried to haggle with them but they would not budge but 3 to 6 months later after reducing the price by mere £500 they sold it!

That was my car I’d owned for five years …sold it to Listers via Wizzle back in September. Got a great price on it. It was offered on here first. It’s in virtually as new condition and wants for nothing. Listers initially put it up for £29,980 so it’s started its downward price journey! Thought that was strong when they first put it up for sale but if you’re in the market for one of these there’s maybe nothing else available of that age in a similar condition.

You should have seen what I was offered for a full spec 35is /late 2016/14k and with no real 100% guarantee of a new M40i being available. Nothing near that £££

Ive just put it in my garage as usual and will wait and see what the springtime brings.

Sign of the times when a six year old car sits centre stage in a main dealer's showroom. Anybody would think they can't fill them with new ones :D
My local VW dealer had ONE car in their showroom a few weeks back (and it was a Passat).

Over priced by at least £3k. If it were a 2016 then perhaps but there are better options on the forum.

Went to test drive an electric car today, went there in my zed.
We were discussing all things motoring, industry view of ICE car values - fuel prices - availability etc etc. The guy said to me he was quite confident that the rarer Z4 E89 was a reasonably good investment for the time being.
Just that no one really knows how much time that is....................

The average car salesman knows as much about the motor industry as an estate agent knows about property. Nothing IME.
They are both salesman. Period.

They must see what’s selling tho?

we can all see that if we look Ron. The internet and all it's information gives us all the same knowledge as 'the experts' if we are willing to look for it.
IFAs are a good example. I have not found an IFA (independent Financial Advisor) yet who can get me a better deal than I can find myself on t'internet, and they want paying for the privilege! :o

I think it’s slightly harsh to categorise all sales people as the same. I agree there are certainly some where you question why are they doing this job, however there are some who have a general love and interest in their job and are very knowledgeable

To paraphrase Malvolio

‘Some salesmen are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them..’

I’ve worked in sales / with sales most of my life.

Watching a tier 1 salesman in action is a beautiful thing. There aren’t many of those sadly.

On the other hand there are many that shouldn’t be there
