While the straight six usually runs smoothly, I’ve recently had a check engine light thrown at me. Code read points to the exhaust cam position, so I recon a VANOS solenoid replacement as well as cam shaft position sensor replacement is in order. Can’t say for certain if they’ve been done before, so figure replacing both is good preventive maintenance (especially since I plan to keep the car).
Since I plan on doing both intake and exhaust sides, I’ll need two of both. For the sensors I’ve opted for VDO’s, while the solenoids I’m torn between VDO and Febi. Any recommendations on what brands to use, be it either of the above or something else entirely?
Also, any further sensors/valves/etc to replace while at it? Much rather do it all in one go than be faced with ill-timed break downs or failures
