Just bought a set of csl reps from these guys and had them sent to a local tyre fitter near my work. As soon as we took of the packaging the fitters noticed a mark on the face of one of the wheels. On opening the others we found that each wheel had marks that appear to be painted over, therefore not from the tyre fitting process. We then noticed that one of the rears and a large amount of weights stuck to the outside (show) face of the rim, behind the spokes but still unsightley. We put this wheel on the balancer and found it not only to be out but that it was slightly buckled.
The owner of the local tyre company "Colin's Tyres" in Aberdeen then called the guys to complain and demand having them picked up and replaced. Four days later they are still there so I called them to ask whats going on, the guy told me to start with that he had no record of the sale, when I kept onto him he eventually remembered selling them and that he put the tyres on himself and that the wheels were definatley new. He said they would not send a refirbed set as new and if I wanted to return them and get my money back it would be at my cost.
I've now got the guys at the garage back onto them, here's hoping they have a bit more authority over them. Thank god for the guys at Colin's Tyres and Colin himself for their honesty and help where they didn't really have to.
I'll post what happens and give these guys a chance to make this right but be warnned in the mean time.
