I was nominated for the press up challenge

The challenge is to complete 22 press ups every day for 22 days. The aim is to raise awareness of the combat solders that are now suffering. Every day 22 vets are committing suicide. People need to be aware of this

That is a very scary statistic, do you know if are we talking worldwide, or somewhere specific? Surely not UK.

Not the UK. I believe this comes from a report relating to US Militery veterans.

Thought that might be the case but this works out to over 8000 a year, and still thought 'no way'.
Maybe Taz knows some more details?

this figure is actually from the USA, apparently UK Ministry of Defence don't know our stats
 
Thanks Taz, wherever the stat comes from, it is shocking and something that should be highlighted, well done.
 
A lot of our vets end up as down and outs which is so wrong, many can't settle into civvie st and end up living rough :(
I try and do 80 press ups a night :)
