Pre to post face lift Xenon to Xenon - flash to pass

With the help of my local indie (an ex BMW tech) we've nearly completed the swap to face lifts Xenons and installed CCFL Angel Eyes (both headlamps and angel eyes bought earlier from forum members) - yeah I know LED angel eyes might have been better but I ended up with 2 sets of CCFLs so wanted to use them.

Sorry no pics at this stage as the car is at the Indie's - where it's kinda becoming his project (which is fine with me as I just don't have the time, some of the skills or facilities !)

Anyway this morning he tells me it is almost all now working (with no coding) but with a bit of rewiring. The one exception is the "flash to pass" when the headlights are not on and I seem to remember someone else resolving this - I've searched and read through all the angel eyes /conversion threads at some point recently but just can't find the one I need.

Can anyone shed any light on this (pun intended) am I right in saying a diode of sorts is needed somewhere in the chain ? If so can anyone give more details ?

Hi mate mac pointed me in the right direction on this one, you need to either wire the flash to the low beam or the high beam, ive wired it to the low beam, so they work correctly when the lights are off, but if the lights are on low beam, you need to push the stalk away from you to flash, you can get it to work properly if you have an intravee though.

Many thanks Mac - with no OEM Nav or Intravee is any of this reconfiguring possible using other software ?

I think I might opt for the work around with flash to pass working with lights off (i.e. wired to either dipped or main) and let my Indie pal see if his electronic skills might work.
 
I haven't come across any other coding method to resolve it without intravee, the only other way is to get a facelift LCM and code that to the car as it contains the cars mileage.

Wire the flash to pass to low beam Will mean no flash when lights are on. Other suggestion is wire it to the fog lights.
