Pre-facelift rear lights on a coupe?

Not sure they'd even fit but has anybody done or seen this if possible? Walking past a pre-facelift roadster on my way to work and admiring the rear end (as usual) which got me thinking how cool they'd look on a coupe.

Found these images of the coupe when it was a concept at the 2005 Tokyo/Frankfurt motor shows and seems a version of it was used then.

You could probably modify the facelift bumper, but it would take some work and a respray. Those lights look better than the actual pre-facelift ones though, IMO.

You could do a cut and shut job like Richardg did.

I thought about this mod before I got my coupe. Then I saw the facelift lights when they were turned on! Too sexy to swap for me I reckon.

If I ever get myself another Z4 Coupe I'm going to do this I think.

Oh no... I'm learning to read the signs, and I can see flashes of neon

I know exactly what you mean and I love the facelift rear lights when they're switched on an its dark. But I reckon if you took the pre-facelift units and did the 'full circle' wiring mod it would look seriously good.
