i can't find the performance, handling , spec, mpg etc. difference.

what's the difference in these two again, or a link to where it might have been asked before?

thanks

Okay, this is not the definitive answer, just the bits I can remember, (I've got a 2005, pre-face lift roadster) :

Engine on the 3.0 went from 231bhp to 265bhp (I think), I seem to recall somebody saying the newer one uses less oil, but my doesn't seem to have a drink problem
Fog lights at front changed from round to rectangular
Rear lights changed completely
Sport spec introduced rather than just SE

No doubt a bunch of other stuff that everybody else can fill you in on.

Hope that helps

when did the facelift occur? My 3.0Si coupe is rated at 255, the 3.0 is 215, but this is from 2007.

The face lift was performed in 06. I believe the horsepower rating are different because England/and or Europe has a different measuring standard for horsepower. But I know that the horsepower rating here in the States is 255 for the Si. Also the engine itself (not sure for the 3.0 but the si for sure) weighs less abouht 60 lbs. because of the use of Magnesium during the manufacturing process.

A very important improvement from 2006 is the modified electric motor controlling the soft top. The old motors are not water proof and they will sooner or later break down, very costly because you have to remove the whole soft top to repair it.

Is this common?

Sounds like a bit of a design flaw if it it?

Be careful with the use of 'common' I think it has happened, but not enough to worry about and certainly not the sort of thing that sways pre or post facelift decision. There are much bigger concerns of price pre/post, engine, gearbox, etc.

As to this problem the motor can become swamped with water draining off the hood and collecting, only if the hood drain holes get clogged and then it fills with water. This naturally happens on older cars, those left outside and when the drain holes never get checked or cleaned.

Where are the drain holes mate? Sounds like a typical weekend job for me!

If you remapped a pre facelift could you get similar figures? Is it the same engine or did they change it?

In UK and northern Europe it seems like we could be very close to call it "common" for the pre-2006's.

I think I'm remembering this correctly as I was shopping for pre- and post when I bought mine. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This is for the US.

Pre-facelift 3.0i had more power pre-facelift, 225hp.

Post facelift saw the 3.0i power drop to 215hp but introduced an upgraded model, the 3.0si with 255hp.
