Pre-facelift 3.0 values (and service history)

Hello all,

I'm looking for a pre-facelift 3.0SE currently - I was wondering what a "market value" would be for a 60k (or so) 2003 or 2004. I have seen a few of this sort of mileage but there is a fair bit of variation in price and I don't know enough to feel knowledgeable about pricing at all. And in fact some with lesser mileage for less as well! Any one I would buy would of course have to have FSH that is for sure so assume it has that. The ones I have seen seem all to have a fairly basic spec as well (no MFSW, Sports seats or 10 speakers etc) but that for me isn't a mega issue.

Also, would non heated seats be a big issue affecting price? Not a huge deal for me but seems to be a big thing for future resale if that happens so I don't want to pay over the odds if it is not ideal spec!

As an add-on, if it has done over 60k (like to say 63k or less) and has not had Inspection 2 is this a deal killer?

Thank you for any help on this!

The chances of finding a 15 year old car with perfect service history if it’s had a few owners is pretty low. As long as the oil has been done regularly I wouldn’t panic too much. Different to an ///M which has tappers that need adjusting every 26k or so.

Heated seats is a must in my book. If you don’t want them, the next person probably will.

MFSW, cruise control are easy to retrofit. M Sport seats are expensive.

There was a 3.0 on here for sale (might still be) for 3k with m sport seats. Higher mileage, bu5 I wouldn’t worry about that. Again 60k on a 15 year old car is low.

There are lots of good cars about, I would decide exactly what spec you want and stick to it, then wait for the right car to come up. This is what I did 18months ago, but I also went and saw a few wrong spec cars at dealers to gauge condition and prices. Also swot up on the forum what issues to look for and don’t forget you can look up a cars MOT history online. In the absence of service history this can be useful information. Probably the best advice is to go for a forum members car, it may cost a bit more but you can almost gaurantee it’s been looked after.
