Thanks Rob. Forgot all about checking the battery posts. Just been out and mines stamped 15 12 which fits with it being an 04/12 car

Mine is stamped 06 19. It is a BMW battery. Car is 2014.

Done and dusted. What i did notice was that there doesn't seem to any date stamps the new battery. Maybe its just an Oem thing

I rigged up a set up like that a few weeks ago, was getting annoying popping the bonnet every time I went out for a spin, much more convenient

I don't user a charger. I just go and drive it occasionally. Off to do that right now as it happens.
