The majority of people on here seem to own, and still be buying 03, 05, 07 models (for example); is that because you prefer the shape; or that you can get some decent power and low mileage for under 10K?

E89s are still big bucks, more electrics = more to go wrong. E85s are pretty cheap for the money. Barely buys you a rotten boxster or s2000.

I'm guessing you are comparing 1st & 2nd generation z4s, if so the 2nd generation E89 was available from 2009
