Ok, so this weekend saw me travel back down to Saint Helens and have a powervalve system fitted. i had the original CAT Back system fitted about 3 weeks go but the drone was overwhelming at low RPM. for now this seems to have cured the problem and made the system more quiet.

Sound great - good burble and not overly loud  Bet it sounds awesome at full chat over 5k rpm 8)

On a more serious note, get that car washed :poke: :poke:

yeah, its taken quite a few weeks to get right but im happy with it for now! and i know she is dirty! but that's how i like her haha! plus she is my daily driver and she lives outside so no point washing her during these past few weeks!

Reading on the BCS website, the powervalve seems to be aimed at turbo cars (boost pressure controlling valve opening.)

Is the valve functional on a Z4 or is it permanently closed?

yeah the valve is functional. a pipe is run from the engine bay to the valve.

This is very interesting. I am intrigued on how it works and its effects on back pressure and flow etc. What did he tell you about it?

well ive sent him a quick emailing asking about the more finer details and ill update you when he comes back to me! ill be honest i think the pressure is a little strong as even when revd hard i have only seen the valve open slightly. although i don't know what its like when actually in motion.

Cheers buddy I will look forward to hearing the ins and outs...

Did you have the induction and remap as well ? or just the exhaust system ?
I did a cold air induction, a remap and a tuned exhaust on my Z3 3.0i and gained about 20hp and a really nice sound. it was Geritol for an Old Lady..
Mine was Dinan, I'd be interested in seeing how Powervalve compares...
