Powering seat outside of car

Got a mate who was thinking of taking one of my old electric Z4 seats for his racing rig, however we'd need to power it for the adjustments.
I've seen people have done this with other brands, wondered if anyone has done it with a Z4 seat?

I assume you'd just need a 12v power supply with the right current, and then work out which of the cables provides power?

From memory it’s two wires pos and neg

I’ll check wiring diagram- what age car are the seats from?

I have done this when I have had the seats out. Used a motorcycle battery. Afaik, new connectors cannot be bought separately anywhere but he could tap directly to the wires.

On e85/6 the power and ground positions were the same on pre and postlift, pin 13 red & brown wire for +12 v, pin 14 brown wire for ground. Both wires are thicker than the others in the connector.
