Hi All

I posted about this a few months ago on the problem section but no one had experience of it. Twice now I have turn the key off, the car has made a ticking noise and all the electrics go dead and reset - clock etc.

Has also happened at low speeds (very unnerving!) when parking or moving off lights. The steering wheel warning light comes on and the steering goes dead.

Any ideas? Going to call BMW tomorrow.

I had the same problem on mine,but not when moving, it was a flat battery caused by the car not fully going into sleep mode and the very cold weather.

Took the car into the dealer and they charged the battery and updated some of the cars software to cure the sleep issue. no problems since.
 
Could make sense, has only happened in the cold weather. Wonder why it would still happen at slow speeds.

Guess I should book it in.

Lots of BMW's have that problem over here but only when it's really Cold like -30 or so . Yours must be damp somewhere it isn't supposed to be.
 
Apparently battery faults are not covered by the extended warantee...anyone got any ideas as to cost? Have asked the dealer for an idea.
