Power Steering motor removal, connector fun!

Hello,
my Z4 Power steering motor has failed and I have nearly removed it (without taking the steering column out). However I need to remove a cable to get it out and cant figure out how the connectors work (upside down in the floor pan).
Is there a catch that I have to release in order for the connector to come out? I have removed the cable ties and dont want to force it and damage a cable.

Thank you in advance

Gary

Afternoon

They are all clip connectors- so you’ll need to find the thing you depress to slide them out

Easiest way is to remove the big fat connector which is easy enough.
Then lower the motor out, but be aware the cable from the torque sensor is cable tied to the top of the motor.
Have snips to hand and support the motor weight while you snip those ties. Then you can rest the motor on the floor and easily see how the plugs come out.

A good idea to note the routing of that cable for when you refit it. No need to faff about with the cable ties as long as the cable is routed correctly and not snagged on anything.

Also mark a datum line across the motor and the spacer before you remove it, to reduce the chances of getting sticky steering when you refit.

Thank you for the replies, my son has small hands and it’s out!
Mine had the sticky steering a good while before it failed, so I think I’ll have to do adjustments after I’ve had it refurbished.
I notice a notch on the spacer/cam is there an actual guide on how it should be set up initally?
