Power steering on my 2.5 failed yesterday just a short distance from home popped into the Chemists to collect meds then when restarting the car no power steering and warning light on dash, sport button not working. Got it home and gave it a scan, wouldn't communicate with the steering module. Quick read up on ECU Testing site confirmed its a classic fail on these motors. Spent today taking it out, Drivers seat out then the footwell trim. Spent the rest of the day upside-down in the footwell getting it out. You wouldn't think two torx bolts would be so difficult to get to.
Have to wait till Tuesday to get it sent off for repair due to Bank Holiday. Hoping its a bit easier putting it back in when I get it back.

I can confirm that putting it back in is indeed easier but from my experience even marking where the rings were before removal I introduced sticky steering so my advice don't put all the trim back in just yet

Thanks for that advice, I planned on doing that.
