Power of Facebook

Back in Feb I had a couple of radiators fitted one of which was a 2m radiator for the living room by a local heating company. The fitter was a really nice chap and the work he did was to a high standard. Unfortunately though the convector grill was badly damaged and bent. No problem the fitter said he would order a replacement. Received the invoice and paid it as trusted the company to get the grill for me. The months passed and I kept chasing them up for the grill, the company is a small family business. I started to get every excuse under the sun every time I chased them up. I must have gone into the shop 5 times to a point it was getting embarrassing. It was just a poxy grill, so why all the excuses they gave me. So this week I posted on their Company's Facebook Page and surprise the next day I received an email to say the grill has been ordered and it was delivered to me on Friday.

I've now deleted my comments off their FB page but shows FB has its uses :)

It's a shame my BMW dealer doesn't have a FB page

My dealer has but I've never noticed many comments on there, unsure what that says about them :?

It just shows what a little publicity can achieve even if its just FB but a shame it came to that, I didn't put anything nasty on their page, just the facts and warning not to pay up until happy with the job. I've since removed the comment as only fair now they've come good.

Great news, but what would be really great is if you posted on their page to tell them how happy you are that they responded ... Albeit eventually

That is what I'm going to do. Some friends all recommended the tyre fitter I used and I posted how he damaged all my wheels. He has said he will have them repaired and if this is the case I will add to the post how quickly he resolved the issue.

I think the main difference with the plumber is that they only responded because of the Facebook post.

Exactly Pastry, I have emailed them to thank them for the grill but I certainly won't be posting praises on their FB page and giving good publicity. If I hadn't mentioned anything on FB I would still be waiting for something that was never going to materialise. It shouldn't take numerous chasing up and fob offs.

Fair play to you for removing the comments, I would have left them as a warning to others but that said I think they can delete them anyway.
