Power direct from battery.

Quick question, can i run a 12v tv tuner hooked up directly to the battery for a day or two, or must it be fused? I dont blow fuses very often, ok, never, so is the risk low and what would cause it to spike?

You can but there is a risk from a short on the cable to the tuner (damage or trapping it etc) or damage to the tuner 'IF' a fault develops in it.
The risk is pretty low though if you are only using it for a few days. Why can't you use the 12v socket (cigarette Lighter?)

I just want to test it for now.

I dont have a cigarette lighter adapter and dont want to tap into it myself, i'd rather pay someone to do that last bit.

For the cost of an inline fuse its not worth taking the risk of having your car burnt out if a fault develops . Use a 5 amp fuse.
 
Yeah, i agree. Just nipped to halfords for a cig lighter plug, as its a temporary fit i'll just plug it in when in use. I'll have the power supply and two signal boosters wired from this. It has a 5 amp fuse in it so should be ok.
