Power cut out? when .....

Hi Guys

Just wanted to pick your brains strange thing happened today was parking the car up and put the steering on full lock , and all the power died away all the lights came up and then when I moved the wheel back to the middle all was fine again, sort of power cut??

Is there a power steering belt slipping or something that may have casued this as I tested it a couple of times under full lock and keep cutting out be strange / concerned?

I am sure something simply no other problems :?

P.s Only when stationary I suppose steering is under the greatest load then

I had this problem with my car - it happened when moving slowly and putting the car on full lock (like when parking). It also happened to me when I was driving along and put my fog lights on - very disconcerting!!! I checked the power terminals on the battery and would you believe it, the positive had come loose so when the car went over a bump or something it lost connection and turned off the power steering and everything else.

Check the terminals and give them a bang onto the battery as the pegs on the battery are tapered slightly - thats my advice :)
