Poverty spec stereo - options?

Ok so bought a 53 plate roadster last week which is great but it came with the poverty spec stereo (single CD player, 6 speakers, no amp). What are my upgrade options - does the boggo stereo have an aux in port that I can tap into to run an iPod?

Don't want to go aftermarket as I've been there done that and it becomes a money pit :)

All suggestions appreciated :)

I bought something very similar to this http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/321417904417 then fed the connection up, in, under, through to the ash tray so it's hidden from view.

The aux socket(if fitted)is hard to spot. You have to look upwards from below the dash to just above the ashtray.
Good luck

I got one of these

Bought a second hand Audiovox/Dice Mediabridge on eBay updated the firmware to the latest version. Very happy :-).

I've had a quick look at the back of my 'CD' stereo head unit and I don't think it has a cd changer input - is this right or am I missing something - just seemed to be a 12 pin socket ( couldn't tell if they were flat or round pins as it was getting dark.

I hate car audio !!!!!! Too bloody complex for my tiny mind!

No need to spend that much, this is the best option. Top quality seller and product. Extremely helpful guy.

The White connector block in the pic came from the left hand connector - I only removed it to give a better access and view.
the block next to the white block you have removed is where the aux in goes, if you buy the fruity car cable aux in it will co e with a new block to go in there

Just out of interest, how does the Radio come out?
You need to take the centre vents out, (Pita the first time but there's tutorials on here) then it's just a couple of screws

If you install this, do you lose the standard AUX port?

not sure if the cable has been developed further but the sound quality on the AUX cables when I had one is terrible. There is lots of discussion on here about it. I "think" it clips some of the sound, but depends how fussy you are.
