Hi All,
I've now owned my 2014 e89 for over 6 months. I've cried because of my first scratch, I've curbed my first alloy, now I'm ready to start pulling things apart inside.
Herewith, my Poundland Universal Tablet mount…
All done with only a Torx20, a Flat head (for the Philips screws
) and two shatterproof rulers.
Total cost of materials less than a tenner.
The Tablet is a Refurbed Tesco Hudl 2 which I bought for double vouchers (£40) – naturally the first thing I did with it was replaced the Launcher with Nova to avoid all the Tesco crap.
If you can’t tell yet, I love doing things on the cheap (except cars and PCs).
USB Power and Aux audio routed through the centre console from the armrest.

I will follow up with a detailed build guide for those interested. I found a lot of information in other posts and forums (Thanks IdTamer and others), but there are still some knowledge gaps (removing the Top Storage Bin in an e89) and sometimes you just need to have the confidence to pull at something because someone else pulled at it and it didn’t break.
In summary the parts are
1 x Poundland Universal Dock cut down. £1.00

1 x surprisingly good quality ebay USB 2.1A Dual port Car charger £2.49 (I'll link in the detailed post)

1 x 2.5mm male to male audio cable (i had already but less than £2.00 on ebay)
1 x Kindle USB charging cable
1 x Brass picture frame hanger
1 x Rubber bicycle torch mounting elastic

The mount assembles in seconds, is rock solid and stows flat in the Storage bin when not being used.
