so was driving down my route to work.
And I got pushed off the road by a bloody kia cee'd.
Now I could swear but the pictures will tell the rest of the story.

I think I will be going for compensation, this is not what I agree with doing but our road seem to be getting worse and worse.

I know it sounds stupid but it might help to photo the pot hole with a measure to give some idea of scale.

Good luck trying to get anything out of Suffolk CC - tighter than a tight thing rolled up tight :x

Have you made contact with them or checked on the website? - don't know how you can prove it was their pot hole but best of luck.

Not what you want on the daily commute. There are some whoppers around these parts. So far I have manage to avoid them. Get some photo's of the pot whole . Even stick a ruler down it and photo that. Hope you get some joy from the council, they must be used to this by now.

Definitely do this, you need to provide evidence of the size and depth of the hole etc..........the days of local authorities just paying out compensation are long gone in most areas but good luck

There are some absolute whoppers around right now & its a total pi$$take when you consider the riches they plunder from motorists each year .
My biggest gripe right now & its making steam blow from my ears just thinking about it is the number of speed bumps we have in our area that already ruin a cars suspension & geo but now they are riddled with pot holes too  makes me seethe that they blight our roads with them then do zero by way of maintaining them , , , , , aaaaaannnnnnnd relax

this guy in Scotland earlier in the week

Thanks guys I will put pictures of it on here.
I was going to get pictures of it on Monday as I'm up Nottingham for the weekend.

Solution is to take all speed bumps and use that material to fill the holes. Two steps that make the roads a load easier to use.

That must have been some pothole OP!

Going by your signature I'm guessing you are running RFTs, and your wheels look like they may be 17s so you wouldn't normally expect to get damage like that!

Good luck with your claim.

+1 for pvr's solution.

It's the stanton to thetford road, as I work in thetford.
You might know the road so if you go down it be careful.

This is what happened to my wheels on my 2 series after hitting a pot hole. It’s been 6 months and still waiting for a reply from hampshire council

I reported some potholes on the road that links our village to the A15 to Lincolnshire County Council at the beginning of January. I could almost see the guy at the other end of the phone shrug his shoulders. He said that because it was a minor road they wouldn’t even look at it for at least 28 days. Then came the usual rubbish that the Council didn't have the money etc etc. Yesterday when coming home along the same road there was a Transit van with collapsed front suspension. The road is quite narrow and in order to avoid a car coming the other way he had driven into the holes. What do we pay taxes for and give millions away to corrupt foreign regimes?

Well people have to pay more tax now post 2017.
And the are getting worse.
There has been almost 14000 potholes reported this month.
We will all need bloody 4x4/ suv's to drive in Britain soon.
It's a joke without getting political the roads were not this bad 8 years ago.
I bet their are no potholes on downing street. :headbang:.
I'd like to ask where all the money is going and what the purpose was for the tax increase?
That road I go on has at least 20 potholes on it, or I go the long way that is a further 15mins on my journey.

I am now officially incensed about potholes to such an extent that last week I wrote to our MP, council and paper about the situation along our road and elsewhere in the South East. I pointed out that if the Government could afford to give money to charities like Oxfam so they could fund their Orgies then they must have enough money to properly repair our road network. I asked to see any programme/plan for resurfacing our roads which when they were built must have had a life span.
Then today my son phones me to say he is at a garage because he hit a pothole which has badly scrapped his tyre and put a crack in tyre rim, garage cannot source another rim (why are there so many rim choices) so he is running on a skinny get you home tyre. A trip to the breakers yard and I managed to get a different rim and secondhand tyre. He lost about 2 hours work today and is going to make a claim. Wonder how that will go!!!

And it is amazing how quickly you get to court if you deduct the costs from your council tax payments ...

I've used the site below to report pot holes on a number of occasions (I know it's not a lot of help if you've already hit the thing)
They've usually been repaired within 2-3 days

There’s some pretty bad potholes around my way!

No, but I did look into deducting for bad services received and when you look at their council tax bills it states that you can’t deduct anything from that for services not rendered by the council and if you did not pay in full you would be prosecuted or words to that effect. Typical council speak.

The road infrastructure in the UK at the moment is so bad that the government just cannot afford to correct the problem. I recently hit a pothole here in Blackpool which resulted in a slight scrape on my front nearside alloy so I contacted Blackpool Council. I sent photographs of the offending pothole along with a photograph of my damaged wheel.

Reply........ " We have inspected the reported pothole and found that unfortunately it does not fall within our set parameters of being a problem".

I don't know and don't particularly care what "THEIR" parameters are, I just know that i hit it and damaged my wheel? Its just totally pointless.
