Potholes!!.....grr

Hit a bad pothole on a road a few weeks ago. Couldn't avoid it.

Was doing about 60 and the right front wheel took a bad knock.

Drove ok after but now realise that tyre is slowly losing air and when I break heavily at speed, there is some shaking. It was solid before that.

Could be a few things I guess including wheel damage. Car has done almost 30k miles.

Really annoying!
 
That's shite. Hit one the other day in my daily and it hit the fuel kill switch and cut out on me at 50mph down hill. Hope the zed is ok - agree sounds like wheel damage :cry:
 
How would it "warp" the disk though Nova?? more likely a buckled / cracked alloy that's unbalanced?
 
Agree with you both. I won't be doing many miles the next few months so it will have to wait until the new year until I have some money to do a general refurb.

Yeah, more likely the wheel and possibly wishbone I would say.
 
for piece of mind I guess you could stick on another set of wheels if you have any or borrow some just to check for yourself that it cures the problem. Then if it still pull/vibrates you can ready yourself for your pants to be pulled down in the new year. Did you get a pic of the pothole?

No, I didn't stop to get a pic. You are right, I should have done. Plan to get some new wheels and suspension upgrade next spring. Perhaps I could source a spare 224 front and stick on to see. Not a bad idea.
 
Sorry to hear that mate, it's a shame you are down south i'd gladly let you use one of my 224's to identify the problem. Perhaps someone nearer will help you out. :thumbsup:

Don't forget to put in a claim to the council. They have a responsibility to maintain the roads. After all, we pay enough tax for them to do so. I did this successfully two years ago in a previous car. From memory they paid up something like 75% of the cost of a new tyre. Even more important if it's not going to be just a new tyre.

Thanks again. I'll try to find time and a good weather slot to take the wheel off and take a look.
