Potenza NON Run-flats

Anyone have any experience with the non run-flat variant of the Bridgestone Potenzas? Looking at ordering some.

I've no experience with the nonRFT Potenza, but I suppose the question is - if you've no experience of them, and the RFT version is pretty widely accepted as not being amongst the best RFTs on the market, then why take the chance with the nonRFT version? Just get something you do know, or is widely known to be well regarded by others.

I had those tyres but not really relevant information as they were fitted to my smart roadster :P
Anyway, i thought they were pretty hard tyres & the rears lasted 40k miles in my ownership, as far as I’m aware the fronts were still original at 80k miles! :o

I have the non run flat versions. I find them quite a firm tyre and a bit prone to tramlining. I will be replacing with another brand.

Thanks guys! I've decided to go with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5's all round instead. Lots of good reviews and test scores.

I have those tyres, they're amazing! 123tyres had them for sub ~£330 when I bought them.

Yikes. Wish I’d known about 123tyres yesterday! I paid £530 on Black Circles for a full set. Ah well.

Well look on the bright side - you're getting rid of Bridgestone Potenzas!

Given my experience of their RFTs I'd never even think of buying Bridgestone tyres of any description. They're terrible!

I used to love the old Bridgestone S02 on my supercharged MX5. Terifgic on the road and still worked well on track. Then they made them a lot harder for the S03 which worked well on heavier cars (so probably good on Z4) but the MX5 just couldn’t work them hard enough on the road to make them grip. Worked well on track though.
Not tried any other Bridgestone tyres other than the hated RFTs on my Z4 which I was happy to replace with Uniroyal Rainsport 3.

Was close to getting the Uniroyals but I’ve heard they’re quite soft and wear out quickly.
Depends on how you use them. If you treat them like track-tyres they will wear out quickly but as road tyres they are fine and last as long as any similar tyre.
