Potential Z4 Roadster owner

Hi Everyone,

My partner and I are looking to get a z4 roadster as a wedding present to ourselves, and have worked out that we can go up to about £10,000 and are after a 3.0l with as many options as we can get! (12k absolute max).

What is included in which pack, (eg. sat nav, parking sensors etc) and with the pop up screen sat nav, is this the onboard computer?

Many thanks,

Laura

laurahenley, welcome to the forum...
UK options and packages are different from US. I'm sure someone will come along that can help you... :!:

Good wedding present

£10k should take you into an 04-plate 3.0i SE, or even a 54-plate if you're lucky (my low-mileage 54-plate cost me £10.4k in a private purchase 8 weeks ago, but is a basic spec - no sat nav or parking sensors). I didn't think there were "packs" as such, more just a list of options that the original owner could pick and choose from, but someone esle should know better than me...

Welcome :)

Hi Laura and welcome. AFAIK only the later Z4s '06 on had an optional pack as such. That was the comfort pack, which included rear parking sensors, multi function steering wheel, and extended storage. Other than that they were just individual options.
Always look for one wih the best possible spec. There is lots of stuff that comes as extra, the standard spec is very basic.
Things such as : heated seats, wind deflector, cruise control, pdc, multi function steering wheel, sat nav, M sport seats, folding mirrors, uprated alloys.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice everyone, we have been reading up as much as we can on these cars and I think the only 'must haves' we have decided upon are the 18 inch split rims. Of course if we see on that is fully loaded and within our budget then we will go for that!

personally id say heated memory seats & the auto dimming rear view mirror are must haves, id suggest seeing a few that have as many options as possible, even outside of your price range to see if you could/couldnt live without the extras.

Hi & Welcome

As already said, there were no option packs in the UK, just optional extras, so Im afraid you will just have to look around and see what you can get.

In my opnion, must have's are, Heated seats (M seats if you can), wind deflector

Nice to have's sat nav, 18" 108's a good srereo (tho this can easily be upgraded) MFSW, sensors

But the more "goodies" it has, the dearer it will be.

But good luck hunting.

Pah, who needs the toys ;)

I chose my Z4 more for the condition it was in - bodywork and mechanically (immaculate) and mileage (very low for age - 18k miles on a 4 year old car), than worry about things like a fancy steering wheel, parking sensors, xenons or nice stereo. All of those things fell into the "nice-to-have-but-not-essential-for-life" category for me. I was weird in NOT wanting xenons after a bad/expensive experience with them failing in a previous car.

I think the only thing I don't have that would be "nice" is heated seats, but I've had the roof down a lot at sub-zero temps and manage fine with just the heater, so they're not essential IMO! And M seats are an acquired taste - the were too narrow across the shoulders for me so I opted for normal seats.

many thanks to Laura and Henley, a lovely couple who im sure will enjoy owning my Z4 I hope it gives you as much pleasure as it did for me and I know its gone to a good home to be well looked after!

Thanks Edd, was great to meet you both and gummy cat - thanks for the lovely Z as well! :D

We haven't had a chance to start annoying regular Z4 forum users yet but should have some time in the next few days. :)

We haven't EVEN had a chance to drive her properly in the light, damn work! We did sneak off for a half hour drive but to the post office but that was it, roll on summer!

Cheers again.

Good to see another Z4 stay within the Z4-forum community :)

Mine was bought from another member and it's been great, loving it.

When we get more time I'll be on these forums a lot more, would love to come to a few meets as well.

I did manage to get time to update the sat-nav OS, now I need to get the new maps. £100 from BMW! :(
