Potential Sale Of My Beloved Z...

Hi All!! I won't bore you all with the 'ins n outs' at this point but I'm HAVING to consider getting rid of my baby.....

However my forum question to put out there is this: I'm aware that there's a 'for sale' section on here but as I'm relatively new, am I right in assuming that the majority of people on here already HAVE a Z4 making it pointless to list????

Secondly, I've done a bit of research re prices but am still unsure what I should be asking/expecting for my little favourite re private sales/part ex etc....if I was to list the spec, would someone be able to advise me further re prices etc and where I should list it to get the most interest if I do decide that she's got to go??

2005(05)/2.2 SE/83k/Bright Red/Near perfect/Full service history/roof motor relocated into boot by Mike/Ducklakeview.....

Hi Mike, a lot of potential owners join the forum to research the cars before purchasing, it’s definitely worth posting an ad here!
Looks like you’ve only just bought your car? Was it a private sale or dealer? It’s value won’t be so different to what you paid I should imaging :?

True, the vast majority of people have a Z on here but several are looking out for a change / upgrade if the right car pops up. Best thing for pricing is to check Auto-trader and see what other similar cars are up for. I would guess around £4 - £4.5k private if it's near mint.
 
Always worth putting it up here first, if nothing else you'll get your advert critiqued by Zed enthusiasts if you need to go down the classified route.

Certainly quite a rare colour, from my experience most Helrot (bright red) Zeds out there are usually 2 litre too
 
I got my zed from the forum. Anyone with half a brain cell will look at forums too when buying :)
 
Hi i joined the forum before i had my Zed just to ask for some advice and have to say a few did come up on here at the time but they were too far away for me, well worth posting it on here as it has had some history with forum members and posting on forums you get a more focused market rather than being in with millions of other cars on sites like autotrader, plus depends on how you are but at least selling on here you know its going to be looked after and cared for, best of luck either way.

Crikey! As ever, the forum members haven't failed to amaze me with the responses! I would have responded earlier but I reckon my notifications set up is slightly 'out' as I haven't had any emails to say I'd had a response!

So I've owned the car for about 3yrs and to be honest, it's a case of money being a bit tight like most these days and having kiddies doesn't help matters!!

For those of you who don't know, the reason I got my zed was because I'd had a long standing joke with my Nan since I was about 8yrs old (I'm now 38yrs old!) and we always joked that I'd pick her up in a 2 seater sports car to collect her pension...she died 4yrs ago and unbeknown to all, she'd secretly saved a little pot of money for each of her grandchildren earmarking it for individual 'child'....with my wife's blessing, I brought my Zed....hence I'm rather attached to it!!!

I'll be having a think.....I think!

I'd just whack the reg in cazana. I think that's a pretty good info / history check to do (and free).
 
I'm the 3rd forum owner of my z4, I always look at car forums for cars I am after in the first instance (even if I have not joined it). I hate it when forums need registration to view the for sale section :headbang:

Whilst most members on here will have a z4, there will be far more non forum folk look at your for sale ad (if its visible to non registered members, cant remember).
