Potential purchase

Hi everyone

New member and 'almost' a zed owner, currently on the look out.

Would appreciate some feedback on a potential purchase I am about to make, details being:

Year: 2004
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 135K
Engine: 2200cc
Hood has recently been replaced, as has the battery and asking price is just over £7,000.00

In good condition and no obvious rust, etc. Reckon this sounds like a sound enough buy for what will be a daily driver?

Thanks

Ryan

I'm no expert but that sounds quite expensive.
I put mine up for sale at 5.5k on ebay (100000miles / 2006 / 3.0 Si / Auto) so perhaps a better spec than your potential purchase – guess that depends on what youre after of course...

I agree with mind bomb here, just sold a 2.0l sport with 65k on the clock for 4k, less desirable engine but IMO the facelift would be more expensive.
Id have a look on the Buy and Sell section here and you'll get a better idea of whats there, and likely better cared for examples

Worth mentioning mines also came with an MOT, new battery and new suspension parts along with koni yellows, sold through the garage my dad works at.

I also agree, wait for one to come up for sale on here, check the for sale section over last 3 months, you will buy much cheaper

thats a 3- 4k motor at the very most, at 135k for 7 grand the seller is dreaming...you can get a lot of zed for 7 grand..even an early e89 is achievable

£7k is madness for a such an old high mileage 2.2. Closer to £3k is where it should be.

That’s what I was thinking, a bit more would by mine with 52k ................... or possibly a bit more again to cover the cost of the remap :poke:

I Paid £3900 for my 2004 3.0L SE with full service history 75k on the clock in May this year. Never failed an mot I'm the 4th owner. All the mileage history checked out. All the problems sorted like roof motor relocation. Disa valve, Vanos service and clutch valve delete. Brand new tyres Electric memory heated red leather. Sat nav Multi function steering wheel, auto lights and wipers. £7k is too much for that car. They come up for sale on here regularly so you should get a great example if you sit tight.

If its an advert can you let us have the link? There might be something special about this particular car to make it worth that much.

As with everyone else, don’t pay silly money. There are plenty of options at about half that price.
