Is there anything sedate about a Zed ?
Of course not, just playing along to the newbie who was the voice of experience
His first post and the voice of knowledge.
I think the auto is just fine and in sports mode is a dream to drive
And still no pics of Brian’s Zed !
Probably a troll then

It’s got really crappy ‘Acellera’ tires on and the wheel shown close up looks like it’s had the face painted without being split down.

Yep; a comprehensive guarantee that the owner that fitted them has skimped wherever and whenever possible.

Oh bugger, I should have asked you before buying my sedate Zed ...what zed do you drive. Got any photos

He asked for an opinion on a 2.5 auto. And that's what I gave "my opinion" if your getting a six cylinder BMW then you don't get the 2.5 because road tax. Insurance and mpg will still be similar so what's the point of getting a lesser powered engine with worse re sale value? Even worse if it's an auto. I've nothing against auto gearboxes and if I were buying a 5 series etc then I'd get an auto. But not in a z4.

I have a 3.0i Manuel btw had it 4 years and still love it.

This newbie has been driving a Manuel 3.0 for 4 years. I've had two z4 3.0i 6 speeds. I've refreshed the vanos. Fitted new upgraded disa valve. Changed a cracked subframe. Any many other mods and jobs. This newbie probably has more experience of an e85 than you.

Whoa! whoa! Wait a minute! I'll fetch my handbag!

This newbie should maybe have started with an introduction so we all knew a bit about him, before he waded straight in with forthright opinions, dispensed as if by some kind of condescending god!

1. Is it worth getting a 2.5 over a 3.0?. No
2. Is an auto more sedate to drive than the Manuel?. Yes

Am I wrong? Was I giving him false advise? No

Your jumping on me because I try to steer a potential new z owner in the right direction, what's wrong with you people?

We’re a nice friendly bunch here, how about a proper intro and some photos, you’ll receive a proper walm welcome

You!

For what exactly? For giving someone correct advice and then being set upon called a newbie and a troll.

Please explain? Was I wrong in what I said? Is the auto z4 a more sedate drive? Is it worth getting a 2.5 over a 3.0?

I'm sure most of the 3.0 Manuel owners in here agree with me. But stay quite as to not risk offending people like you and the other child that started with me.

Come on lads, we're all friends here.

Anyway, everyone knows that proper driving enthusiasts buy Porsche Boxsters instead. :fuelfire:

There was no intention to offend or upset you, it’s not in my nature, if I have I apologise, now how about a proper introduction and some pics of your Zed ?

Steve
