Potential New Owner

Good Evening All,

I am in a situation where I am looking into getting a Z4 2.0. I am playing with about 12-13k but am really at a point where I am unsure what to get and hidden costs I might not have taken into consideration. I've set aside insurance money which is Okay but I hadn't really thought about servicing, MOT, road Tax etc etc. As stated, being 25, the 2.0 is the car I am looking for, probably a sports edition. I would be looking to get from a BMW dealer which means I get a 1 year warrantee but other than that I am at a bit of a loss. I have my eye on a delicious '09 plate at the dealer...sports 2.0..

Would anyone either with a 2.0 sports edition or a car of that sort be able to give me a breakdown on the main costs (minus insurance) that I would be looking at...

Any help is much, much appreciated.

Thanks,
Warl

Hello, welcome along

Can't speak for the 2.0, but am sure you'll find the information you need here.... :driving:

Welcome

I was 25 when I bought mine and Ive had my 07 4-potter for almost 2 years now - its done 25k miles, 17k of which have been mine. I get 34 - 35 mpg on mixed routes, had my first year oil service and MOT for free and had its 2nd MOT yesterday - slightly more expensive as also had the recommended air conditioning service and brake fluid change so total bill was £230 - but in two years, that is all it has cost from a service point of view so can't complain at that. Inspection service not sure for another 6000 miles

The only other major expense has been tyres - as you will see on here a lot of people ditch the run-flats to save money (and improve aspects of the ride). For various reasons I choose to keep mine and had to replace the rears a couple of months ago - 2 Michelin RFTs were £540.

To be honest, other than the tyres it doesn't really cost a lot more than a 2.0 Golf to run and is an absolute hoot to own and drive so go for it

Hi and welcome.

Get youself some insurance prices for a 2.5si and then you could but mine

Still has BMW warranty and I'm the only owner (from 71 miles).

I could be tempted to let it go for 12K seeing what I can get an ///M for.
