Potental New Zed

Some of you know I have very quietly looking for a new Zed to add to my stable. My wife wants HER Zed back.....

I have been on the fence between a roadster or coupe'. My wife says that I would be sorry if I got a Coupe'

Yesterday, I was at one of the local BMW dealers up here in New England. They have six Zeds on the lot. Two Coupe's and the rest Roadsters. 2 ///M's. AND they are NOT moving them at all.... Good for me...

They have a 3.0 si Imola Red Coupe'. I just fell in love with it...They also have a Silver one...

I had never seen a Coupe up close, let alone sit in one.. I am now sold on the Coupe'.

The Salesman was very excited that I was looking at the Zed's. I can't buy just at the moment but that time is coming...

I gave him my card, and told him that if it has not been sold buy Dec. to call me.. with the way the economy is here in New England I may have a chance at it....

I love my coupe. I have very long, very fine hair that goes absolutely everywhere if I drive the roadster. I also didn't want to have to slather on the sunscreen if I drove with the lid down, here in the South. The Coupe gives me more luggage space and it's more secure than a cloth top. You'll love it 'cause it's still a Z at heart.

Oh, and they'll start with the incentives soon. I bought mine last year at the end of August and they had a $5K incentive already. Oct/Nov, it should be up to more like $7.5K. Watch Edmunds.com--they list current incentives.

Ship, I am a roadster guy till the end, that is until I was introduced to Rick Hunters M coupe. That has to be one of the most beautiful cars I have seen, it did not help that it is my favorite color also. Go for it.

If I were to use my zed as an everyday car, no question I would get a coupe. I have seen Rick Hunter’s coupe a couple of times and the drool is still dripping off my chin. It is a perfect color also. But, I have other cars I use to drive for everyday. 8)

The roadster is a toy and a great amount of fun. A roadster is something different. You see many coupes, maybe not Zed coups, but coupes every day. Unless you are into BMWs, most people don’t know what they are and as beautiful as they are to us, I don’t think they draw anywhere the attention a roadster does. To most people I think they think they are just some kind of 280Z or car like that.

Go for it Ship! Life is too short and it's only money.

I'd get the coupe if I were you, since you can always beg wifey to let you run the roadster on those perfect drop top days. Now you can have the best of both worlds. :driving:

My reasoning as well. I had the roadster, but I wanted one I could drive year round even in Chicago cold. I really like the roadster with hardtop option, but in the end the coupe makes more sense for daily driving.
